About ten years ago, the singer Mélanie Dahan called me to replace the violist of the quartet in her project … with Giovanni Mirabassi as pianist!
We did some great festival stages (including Jazz en Baies, Sunside at Roland Garros, Grand Carré Bellefeuille …)
I liked so much Giovanni’s sound, in the string quartet that accompanied him.
Suffice to say that I was happy collaborating with him.
Then the years passed …
Secretly, I always kept this desire to play with him in the corner of my mind …
But really play with him, in another more intimate context, in a musical situation where I could express myself more freely …
And you know what ?
My dream finally came true.
Giovanni has done me the immense honor of joining me on my “SOUFFLE” project, which aims to merge jazz and classical music, two worlds that meet too rarely …
